Safety Bear is an independent Acid House electronic artist who weaves together retro Hi-NRG dance beats and lyrics filled with subject matter typically alien to the dance floor. Safety Bear is known for his energetic live performances where he triggers multi-track stems via a live drum machine capped with his own vocals. The resulting songs are engaging and euphoric, immersive and subversive.

Safety Bear’s first full-length album, We Live from Day to Day, was released on vinyl in August, 2026, and was co-produced by Steve Wright (Future Islands / Pigeons Playing Ping Pong) and Ian Shaw (Bikini Kill / Nick Heyward). Safety Bear’s tracks have been remixed by Nate Lanzino, Lane Young, Chinedu Onome, and Sanity Assassin.
To date, Safety Bear has performed in major U.S. cities including New York, Boston, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Washington, D.C., Orlando, Key West, and also in London, England. Festivals include SXSW’s DMV Stage, Fort Reno’s Summer Series, Key West’s Fantasy Fest, Art-O-Matic, Capitol Pride Celebration, Fringe Festival, and the Montgomery Whitewater Summer Series.

Safety Bear’s extensive fake fur wardrobe is primarily by world-famous Drag Queen, Sushi, founder of the 801 Drag Cabaret in Key West, Florida.
